CALLING ALL SERIOUS SINGERS AGES 7 AND UP!!!
Are you a competitive singer?
Do you want to record a demo and need to polish the songs?
Do you dream of auditioning for "American Idol" or other talent competitions?
Do you sing in church, school choir or a professional group?
Do you exude a natural inclination toward singing/music?
Look no further!
My name is Marquel Dionne and I provide voice lessons for the competitive young singer. By competitive, I mean the singer who is auditioning (i.e. musical theater/drama), involved in competition (i.e. UIL Solo and Ensemble, talent shows, pageants) and/or is a member of a competitive choir (i.e. Texas Girls' Choir).
I also assist singers who want to record a DEMO to shop to record executives! Singing in the studio is very different from singing on stage. I can help with pitch, tone quality and accuracy.
I can assist you with choosing songs/repertoire, improving vocal technique, learning and improving foreign language diction and stage presence!
I teach HEALTHY vocal technique for all types of music: pop, country, R&B, classical/opera, rock, musical theater, jazz, gospel and whatever else is out there!
I teach SINGERS how to SURVIVE on the stage! Just because one can sing a song, doesn't mean he/she can sing the song 5 times in a row, or 5 times a week for an entire tour!
I am also a Certified Yoga Teacher. I use the ancient techniques of yoga to assist with breath control, anxiety relief and mental/emotional stamina.

What will I recieve/learn in the Marquel Dionne Voice Studio?
Basic Anatomy and Physiology. It is imperative that you know how your voice works. The voice is a biological instrument. Guitarists, pianists, clarinetists, etc. know every working part of their instrument. Singers should do the same.
Practice Etiquette. Practice is essential to learning a skill. Clients will receive instruction on effective practice and materials to assist in daily practice.
Goal(s) Assessment. When learning new skills, it is important to know how and where they will be used. Are you preparing to audition; do you want a record deal; are you recording a demo? Goals maintain focus.
Vocal Clarity. Singing is about communication. It is about emoting an idea through melody. Singing is much more than making beautiful tones. It is about connecting to your audience!
Vocal Freedom. A ‘beautiful’ voice is a free and healthy voice. Many singers find that they do not create the results they want because the voice is restricted. There is tension in the voice. Clients will learn techniques that will relieve tension and give the singer greater access to vocal freedom and authenticity.
Repertoire Assessment. Clients will learn to choose songs that are appropriate to their voice. Each voice is different and not all songs are created equal.
Tailored Coaching. Every client is different, so every voice is different. Each voice has it’s own strengths and weaknesses. One singer may find it comfortable singing low notes, but struggle singing high. Another may struggle with vibrato, while another wants to extend range. A coaching session will address the client’s basic and specific needs.
Discover Your Voice! The main reason one embarks on learning skills is to learn the Self! It is about discovering who you are and “doing who you are.” It is about the path to authenticity-becoming aware of your unique skills, talent and wisdom and effectively sharing them to the world! The more you are in touch with the authentic Self, the more you will have access to your Authentic Voice!
